A Brief History of Falco
Apr. 10th, 2014 12:22 am A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Falco grew up on Zoness, presumably at a time when the planet was slightly less of a shitball. The son of a deadbeat, absent father and a mother working multiple crap part-time jobs just to make ends meet, he didn't exactly have a solid start. Falco was a troublemaker from an early age and dropped out of school at thirteen and started running with a local gang; by fourteen, he was arrested for a laundry list of crimes, mostly property because he was a little shit who didn't respect other people's property rights. He ended up in juvenile hall, but was able to make a deal with the state to reduce his sentence, provided that he immediately join the Cornerian military.
Because if the military couldn't sort his shit out, nobody could.
Falco jumped on that deal like a fat kid on cake, because he didn't want to get stuck in juvie and would've agreed to pretty much anything in order to get out. To everyone's surprise, it turned out that he was actually a natural pilot, and over the next two years, he turned into an annoying good ace pilot. Unfortunately, Falco still had authority issues, and after two years of getting yelled at by douchebags in funny hats, he decided he'd had enough. He went AWOL and disappeared, later meeting up with an old friend from the local Zoness gang, Kat Monroe. The two of them did some recruiting, stole a few ships and formed the Hot Rodders, a galactic gang that focused mostly on smuggling and information theft.
At some point during Falco's career as a gang leader, the Hot Rodders managed to obtain a mobile base of operations called River Pig that was similar to the Star Fox team's Great Fox ship; as the carrier was equipped with jamming technology and transmission trackers, along with an impressive armory, it's possible that it was originally a military craft that the Hot Rodders managed to steal. Falco is also just ballsy and stupid enough to try ripping off the Cornerian military, so hey, why not.
After three years of running the gang, Falco left due to a falling-out with Kat over her unrequited romantic overtures towards him. Out in the galaxy on his own again, Falco futzed around for a while before answering a recruitment ad for a mercenary gang called the Star Fox team, which he thought was a hella stupid name, but he didn't care so long as they paid him on time.
And then he met Fox McCloud, and the rest is Star Fox history.
Because if the military couldn't sort his shit out, nobody could.
